Beach Tour
— p.m. afternoon schedule
This guided beach tour takes place in the afternoon, starting from the Frangokastello coast. We drive east to Agia (Saint) Marina, an isolated pebbled beach with crystal clear waters that has recently become popular amongst campers. The small church of Agia Marina is a historical gem that contains artwork dating back to the Byzantine era. We will rest here to enjoy a beverage (included with tour) and then continue east to the coastal villages of Rodakino and Plakias which belong to the municipality of Agios (Saint) Vasilios, Rethymno.
The secluded beaches here render the area tranquil and the views of the sea and horizon are absolutely beautiful. Upon returning to Frangokastello, we use a different route by driving on the Agios Vasilios — Sfakion Road which takes us through the formidable Kotsifou Gorge—a remarkable geographical wonder that stands at an impressive height of 600 m. At this time of day, we also have the opportunity to admire the majestic sunset over the Libyan Sea. What a wonderful way to end our beach tour!
